After losing their previous home in the February earthquake, our clients wanted a new home that reflected a fresh start. This home is beautiful and modest, sitting at ease amongst the large trees that line the street. Utilising excellent materials and showcasing the fine detailing that Smylie Builders relish, this cleverly designed house comprises all that the clients asked for – and proves that big is not always best.
Three sets of over-height north-facing doors open up to the outdoor living space with a Vitex deck running the length of the house. The ground and polished concrete floor features an in-slab heating system powered by an external Heat pump. The stylish kitchen was designed with the help of Chelsea from Smylie Builders and is made of lacquered hoop pine plywood with stainless steel benchtops and hand-glazed brick tiles.
